Dal Kosambari

Hello Friends,
             Dal  Kosambari is a famous salad from Karnataka, Its prepared on special occasions like marriages, naming ceremony.
This is very simple salad which needs no cooking ...... This salad is rich in proteins and vitamins as dal rich in protein and cucumber in vitamins.


Ingredients:
1 cup yellow split moong dal
1 small cucumber (finely chopped)
2 green chilies (finely chopped)
3 tbsp coriander leaves (finely chopped)
1 tbsp lemon juice
Salt to taste
For Tadka:

1/2 tsp oil
4-5 curry leaves
1/4 tsp mustard seeds

For the garnish:
1 tbsp fresh coconut (grated)




Method:
  • Wash and soak the moong dal in enough water for 2-3 hours. Discard the water and keep it aside.
  • Add chopped cucumber in the dal. Mix well.
  • Add chopped coriander leaves,  green chilies,  lemon juice,  and toss well.
  • Now prepare the seasoning, heat  oil in a tadka pan, add mustard seeds and  curry leaves,  pour this over the dal and cucumber mixture. Mix well.
  • Add salt only before the serving.
  • Serve garnished with grated coconut
