Mango Tango Mocktail

Hi Friends,
  Summers started and we all are protecting ourselves from this scorching heat .....How can we forget the king of fruits MANGO in summers??

The raw mango is highly appreciated for its nutritional value they are excellent source of Vitamin C, Raw mango guards you from negative affects of excessive hot temperature and adding MINT along with mango is a bliss. Mint acts as a cooling sensation to the skin and a very good cleanser for the blood.


This is one of my favorite recipes which I learnt from my MOM..... Sharing it with you all :) So don't forget to add this drink in your SUMMER'S Special DIET.....



Ingredients:
  • 2 raw mangoes 
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp dry mint leaves powder
  • 1/4 tsp roasted cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp black salt
  • Crushed ice
  • a few mint leaves (pudina)

Method:

  • Pour 1 cup of water and sugar in a heavy bottomed pan and cook  till the sugar dissolves completely, keep stirring continuously.

  • In the meanwhile, peel and chopped raw mangoes and keep them aside.



  • Now add the mangoes and cook on a medium flame for  5-7 minutes, till the mangoes are cooked.

  • Remove from fire and keep aside to cool.
  • Put the cooked mangoes in the mixer, blend till the mixture becomes smooth.
  • Transfer the mixture into a bowl, add dry mint leaves powder, black salt, roasted cumin powder. Mix well.


  • For serving, put crushed ice in the individual glasses and pour equal quantities of the drink over it.

  • Add water and garnish with mint leaves.
  • Serve chilled.


Note: 
  1. You can store the mixture in the air tight bottle and keep it in the fridge for a week.
  2. Just pour the mixture in the glass, add water and ice. Serve.

Masala Chai / Mixed Spice Tea

Hi Friends ..
Harsh weather and record breaking cold in North India . Getting up in the morning and going for work is nothing else but a big punishment for all of us. Don't feel like leaving our cosy cosy bed-quilts...
But what a kick-start of the day when you wake up and get a hot cup of tea .....YAWWW. Feels like sitting in Heaven and enjoying.
Adding Masala in the chai just like cherry on the cake....



Ingredients:
2 cups of water
1 cup of milk
2 tsp of sugar (1/2 tsp of sugar per cup) you can add sweetener acc.to taste
A pinch of tea masala
2 tsp dried tea leaves of your choice ( I prefer Red label)

For Masala:
1/4 cup cinnamon stick 
1/4 cup black peppercorns
1/8 cup cloves
1/4 cup green cardamom
5-6 black cardamoms
1/4 cup dry ginger powder (saunth)
1//4 cup fennel seeds 


For Masala:
  • Roast the cinnamon, cloves, black pepper, cardamom, and black cardamom on tawa/ griddle for 5-7 mins.
  • Remove from fire and keep it aside till it cools completely.
  • Grind to make a fine powder, add dry ginger powder. Mix well.
  • Store in an air-tight container.
  • Use a pinch to make tea or milk.
Method:
  1. Boil water in heavy bottomed pan.
  2. Add a pinch of masala. Keep it on low flame for 2-3 mins.
  3. Now add sugar and dried tea leaves. Boil again for 2-3 mins.
  4. Add milk. Now increase the flame and bring it to boil.
  5. The froth and the tea leaves will come up, keep it on low flame for 1-2 mins.
  6. Remove from fire and strain it.
  7. Serve hot with your favourite cookies.
Note: You can use the same masala in a glass of hot milk too.

Cool Blue

Hi Friends...
Temperature is rising day by day ....in summers we prefer liquid diet rather then having something solid.
Again I am back with a beverage inspired by CAFE COFFEE DAY...........COOL BLUE :-)
I made this recipe on my own and believe me it was a hit at my place. I want you all to try this simple recipe :-)

Ingredients: (for 1 glass)

  • 2 tbsp citrus blue syrup (By Mapro)
  • 1 tbsp lemoneez or lemon juice
  • 1 glass of sprite, limca or 7up
  • Few ice cubes

Method:

  1. Mix syrup and lemon juice.
  2. Take a tall glass and place 1/4 cup of ice cubes in it. Pour the lemon mixture in the glass.
  3. Top it with sprite or limca.
  4. Serve immediately.

Lemon Iced Tea

Hi All..
 Its so hot nowadays that we always look for something refreshing and easy to make ... So here goes the recipe :-)


Ingredients:-

  • 2 tea bags 
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 4 tbsp honey or sugar 
  • Ice cubes
  • 2 1/2 glasses of water
  • Lemon slice for garnishing

Method:

  1. Boil 1 glass of water, add sugar and tea bags into it. (If you are using honey then add only tea bags)
  2. Remove from fire and keep it aside. 
  3. If you have not added sugar in the tea mixture then add honey when the  mixture becomes lukewarm.
  4. Add lemon juice and 1 1/2 glass of water, when the mixture is completely    cold. 
  5. Put ice cubes in the glasses and pour the mixture over it.
  6. Garnish with lemon slice and serve immediately.

Cold Coffee

Enjoy the cold coffee in this hot summery weather .....


Ingredients:
  • 2 glass of milk 
  • 3 tbsp icing sugar
  • 2 tsp coffee
  • 1 cup crushed ice
Garnish:
  • Chocolate sauce
  • Chocolate powder

Method:
  1. Mix all the ingredients in the blender, except chocolate sauce.
  2. Blend well till smooth.
  3. Pour into individual glasses.Sprinkle chocolate powder on top.
  4. Serve chilled.

Aam Panna (raw mango drink)

Ingredients:
1 raw mango (boiled)
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp.pepper powder
1 tsp.roasted cumin powder
1 tbsp.salt
1 tsp.black salt
2 tsp.dried mint powder
5-6 cups of water
Ice cubes

Method:
Peel and mash the mango.
Take a blender add mashed mango all the masalas and blend it till smooth.
Transfer the mixture into a jug and add water.
Keep it in a fridge for 3-4 hrs.
Before serving add ice cubes in each glass and poured the mango panna.
Serve chilled, garnish with lemon wedge.

Enjoy in hot summers......

Grape Slush

Hi friends,
    A cool cool drink for you all to enjoy in hot humid weather ......


Ingredients:
  • 2 cups purple grapes (crushed)
  • 2 tbsp strawberry crush (mala's brand)
  • 2 cups crushed ice
  • 1/2 lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp honey (optional)
  • Salt
Method:
  1. Combine all the ingredients (except salt) with 1/2 cup of ice in a mixer. Blend till it resembles like a slush.
  2. Apply salt on the rim of the glass, Pour slush into the glass.
  3. Garnish with a grape.
  4. Serve chilled.
