Aloo Chaat

Hi Friends,
Aloo chaat is a famous street food of North India. It is served on the road-side from stalls or pheris.
In Delhi, there was an uncle who used to bring his "pheri" during winters with big tava placed in the centre surrounded by boiled potatoes. You order for 1 plate aloo chaat, he will chop two boiled potatoes and do shallow frying.
Serving the chaat in a disposable leaf bowl with lots of chaat masala on it......Yum Yum.
After sometime my Mom started making the same chaat at home. It is the easiest and quickest recipe to make at home.


Ingredients:

  • 3-4 boiled potatoes
  • 1 cup pomegranate seeds
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp chaat masala
  • 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp black salt
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Oil for shallow frying


Method:

  • Chop boiled potatoes into cubes.
  • Heat oil in a non-stick pan, shallow fry potatoes till they become golden brown from all the sides.

  • Remove from fire.
  • Now take a large bowl, add pomegranate seeds, potatoes and all the remaining ingredients. Mix well.
  • Serve immediately.
