Hi All..........
Recently I received a cookbook of Jiggs Kalra (J.Inder Singh Kalra) from Pallavi. I participated in her FUNFAIR EVENT and won it.. Really the event was amazing and nicely hosted by her.
So I decided to make something from the book to express my feelings and boys guess what ??? Happiness was doubled when the recipe was loved by everyone ...
Sharing the recipe with you all so that you all can also try this and get a big smile from your loved ones....
I made few changes in the recipe by adding few more ingredients into it.

Sharing the recipe with you all so that you all can also try this and get a big smile from your loved ones....
I made few changes in the recipe by adding few more ingredients into it.
Ingredients:
- 700 gm mutton
- 3/4 cup curd
- Salt
- 4-5 tbsp ghee
- 3-4 green cardamoms
- 2-3 black cardamoms
- 3-4 cloves
- 1" cinnamon stick
- 2 bay leaves
- 4 large onions (paste)
- 5 large tomatoes (paste)
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tbsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tbsp garam masala
- 1/4 tbsp cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp haldi powder (Turmeric)
- 1 tsp red chilly powder
- 2 tsp mutton powder (optional)
- Garnish: chopped coriander leaves
Method:
- Wash and clean mutton. Keep it aside till it gets dry.
- Whisk curd in a large bowl, add salt. Mix well. Now add mutton pieces and marinate them for 1-2 hrs.
- Heat ghee in a pressure cooker, add roughly crushed cardamoms (green and black), cinnamon, cloves, bay leaves.
- Cook for 10 secs. Now add onion paste. Mix well. Bhuno till it turns golden brown in colour.
- Add ginger-garlic paste. Mix well. Bhuno.
- Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, mutton powder and red chilly powder. Saute it.
- Now add mutton along with the marination, cook covered on low flame until tender.
- Keep adding 2 tbsp of water at regular intervals to ensure that the meat doesn't stick at bottom of the vessel.
- Now add tomatoes. Mix well.
- Stir and bhuno until lamb (mutton) is napped in the masala.
- Add cumin powder and garam masala, stir for a minute.
- Lastly, I closed the lid of the cooker and gave 2 whistles.
- Open the cooker once the pressure drops down.
- Remove to a serving dish, sprinkle chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with rotis and pranathas.
It is very easy and simple recipe ......If you are mutton lover, do try this.
