Sambhar recipe for you all ....enjoy sambhar with vada, idly or dosa ...
Ingredients:
1 cup toor dal
1/4 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp red chilly powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp coriander powder1 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
2 tbsp tamarind pulp
1/8 tsp asafoetida
2 medium onions (finely chopped)
1 medium tomato (finely chopped)
Veggies ( eggplant, carrot, beans, drumsticks)
1 tbsp sambhar powderSalt to taste
For Tadka :-
3-4 dry red chilies
Few fresh or dried curry leaves
Method:
Ingredients:

Few fresh or dried curry leaves
Method:
- Boil the yellow dal in a pressure cooker, mash it and keep aside.
- Cook the veggies with a pinch of turmeric powder in some water. Remove from fire when soft.
- Heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan and saute the onions till they turn golden brown.
- Add tomato, sambhar masala and the dry ingredients. Stir well. Cook till oil separates.
- Add the veggies, toor dal and the tamarind pulp. Mix well. Add two cups of water and let it cook for 15-20 min on medium heat.
- In another pan heat 2 tbsp oil and add curry leaves and dry red chillies. Let it simmer till they begin to crackle.
- Pour it on the sambhar and serve hot with idly, vada or dosa
Sambar is the best dip for idli or dosa and yours looks so yum!! Loved the addition of garam masala must be more flavorful :)
