I tried this recipe with a little variation and it came out perfectly so wanted to share with you all :-)
Ingredients:
- 700 gm Chicken ( I used chicken with bones you can use boneless too)
- 2 tsp red chilly powder
- 1 tsp pepper powder
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp cornflour
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp wheat flour
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tbsp yogurt
- 1/4 tsp food colour (red)*
- Salt acc.to taste
- Oil for frying
Method:
- Wash and pat dry chicken pieces and keep them aside.
- Mix red chilly powder, pepper powder, salt, vinegar, lemon juice and kabab powder or red colour, marinate the chicken pieces for 1 hour.
- Mix corn flour, egg, wheat flour to thick paste.
- Dip the marinated chicken pieces in the paste.
- Heat oil in a kadhai and deep fry the chicken pieces on medium flame to golden brown.
- Remove on an absorbent paper.
- Heat 2 tbsp oil , add ginger garlic paste and curry leaves, saute till it ginger- garlic paste turns brown.
- Add yogurt and mix well.
- Add salt.
- Cook till mixture gets thick.
- Add fried chicken pieces, cook in low flame till masala is nicely coated on the chicken pieces.
- Remove from fire.
- Serve hot.
Note: I mixed kabab powder in the marination (it has colour in it), so I skipped putting extra colour. If you don't have kabab powder then add colour while marinating the chicken.
